Setting Up Your Utila Backup

Station70 provides secure storage and policy-based recovery for your Utila vault backups. This guide walks you through setting up your backup with Station70.

Once you decide to secure your Utila backup through Station70, Utila will automatically notify our team. A member of Station70 will then reach out to initiate your onboarding process.

After creating your Station70 account, log in to your Utila web account and navigate to your Vault Settings and go Backup. From there, select Create New Backup and choose Station70 as the backup provider. If the “Continue” button is unresponsive at this step, please contact Utila Support for assistance.

Once the backup has been initiated on the web, switch to the Utila mobile app. On the app, go to Vault Actions, locate the Pending action, and sign it to authorize the backup.

At this stage, Utila will display a Seed Phrase. This is a critical piece of information for recovering your vault in the future. The phrase begins with "Vault Backup" followed by 13 randomly generated words. This phrase is not user-created and changes every time you back up a vault. It is essential to store it securely. If you lose this phrase, recovery will not be possible. Also, note that if you add new wallets to your vault, you do not need to create a new backup. Station70 will automatically update the existing backup with the latest vault data.

Once these steps are complete, your backup will appear in your Station70 account. Log into Station70, go to the Backups section, and you will see your Utila backup listed. Select the backup and click Enroll to finalize the setup.
